Meyer-Näkel from the Frühburgunder/Spätburgunder region Ahr dates its name back to 1950. Right from the beginning they have been producing dry red wines and do particularly well in Spätburgunder.

The estate is located in Heppingen (Ahr) and it was founded in 1920 by Peter-Josef Schäfer. Today it is run by his grandson Paul-Josef Schäfer and his wife Gitta, supported by the sons Paul-Michael, Heiko and Andreas.
