Monterosola

13 April 2021

While we are all impatiently waiting for the world to return to "normal" - whatever that is - it is always possible to dream our way abroad and luckily also taste a little Southern goodness.

Monterosola is such a place that we might dream our way to now, as snow is falling in April (!) in Copenhagen, and this winery and Cantina are found enchantingly nestled between Bolgheri and Chianti in sunny Tuscany. The winery holds 25 hectares of impressive vineyards, a stunning Cantina - perfect for a destination wedding or maybe just a destination - and a lush landscape with olive groves and woodlands. It is owned by Swedish family Thomaeus whose fondness for Tuscan wines led them to the place in 2013 and where they have been tranforming the winery towards modern, elegant, and often organic measures. Winemaker and agronomist Michele Senesi and viticulturist Stefano Dini and their team are behind the beautiful wines which comes out of this area.
